Great shoe with rock protection, light weight, and moderate cushioning for a trail shoe. For me, it offered a bit more protection than the Fireblade but has added weight to provide that protection. Really nice compromise of light shoe with protection and moderate cushioning.

Got the Lynx. Strapped them on loaded up my 3 labs and headed out for a test trek. Through various terain down the ties of a railroad track they feel really great. Now if you can invent a sole that resists dog do-do that would be fantastic. Nothin' a garden hose couldn't handle.

I got these shoes yesterday and took them on their maiden voyage. I previously owned Salomon XA comp2s and they lasted me about two years before they became a bit too small. The sportivas have a balanced cushion (not too soft, but not hard like a hiker) so I went for a 5 mile trail run at the local park, which included varied steep terrain, rocky and loose ridges, and muddy sections. The sportivas handled very well so the only remaining test is that of time and their durability. The only complaint I think they may muster is that they can get hotter because they are black. Other than that they are amazing and I would highly recommend them, even over the salomons.
