I've tried several kinds of wool socks, and these and SmartWool's Hiking Medium Crews (which are a little thicker than the Lights) are the best. With regular wool socks, I have to wear polypropylene liners because my skin is very sensitive and itches against wool. But SmartWool's promise not to itch is as good as gold. I've also tried some other SmartWool socks but didn't like the fit as much around the ankles--it was just a personal thing, as I gave them to my husband (I have big feet!) and he loves them. Oh, and some other socks stink after a day's wear, but not SmartWool's, and they don't need special washing care. I'll definitely buy more!
