This product works well for me. I took two minutes before using it to figure out how to get it in and out of the bottle and have had no trouble since. As for the childlike hands comment--I have never had to touch the press basket while removing it from the nalgene. I also use finely ground coffee and never had any in my cup.

The only problem is that your nalgene bottle will become a coffee bottle. The coffee smell doesn't go away.

Works OK
By Scout LeaderVerified Purchaser from Oviedo, FL on 11/14/2006
Pros:
Lightweight
Cons:
Bulky
Best Uses:
Car Camping

Tested the unit once on a recent camping trip. It's difficult to get it setup in the bottle and some grounds slip through a small gap. Other than that it works pretty well.

Works well...but...
By chutneyVerified Purchaser from Marquette, MI on 8/10/2006
Pros:
Compact, Lightweight
Cons:
Delicate
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Car Camping

The Press Bot works well under the right conditions! Got some tasty coffe out in the woods. However, it does not work with "all" wide-mouth Nalgene bootles - it would not screw on to any of the bottles I had at home. So I bought a new one that would work. OK. But it had hand grips on the side of the bottle and when the coffee press moves past that point it allows grounds up into the coffee.

I would not buy this.
By BlackdogVerified Purchaser from Roslyn, WA on 6/23/2006
Pros:
Lightweight, none
Cons:
Pass thru filter easy, Too small, water will not
Best Uses:
Kept on a shelf

I can not recemoned this product. It is near inpossible to use and clean. The device would be good entertainment in the tent on strom days until one spilled wet used coffee grounds all over their down bag. I had trouble pouring hot water thru the filter with out burns on my hands. I also struggled with the disasembly of the thing out of the water bottle. It takes very small child like hands to fold the filter and remove form bottle. [...]

I bought this as a gift and the first comment was "Cool!" It takes a little trial and error to get the grind right, but it works really well. My son is going to Ukraine for a Peace Corps assignment and is looking forward to having a touch of home in a foreign land.
