You'll now why they call it Jet Boil first time you fire it up! Loud, Fast & Powerful!
I own 4 other lightweight stoves and this one ROCKS! I used one fuel can for a eight day solo in the Rockies & that never happened before...its a small can!
Best thing - you can hang this stove and Boil. No more kick overs. You can tie it up with cord, but I recommend the hanger kit!
Only weakeness - its a bit unstable when on the ground - buy the stabilizer if youre on the deck cookin.
a revered piece of gear i love it

A Good stove to boil water, everyday use is hard on it.Note: store fuel can inside wrapped in a small cloth or paper towel to avoid rust.
Excellent if Used Correctly

If used correctly, this compact stove unit is excellent. The instructions CLEARLY state how much water can be boiled in the cup and that limit can only be SLIGHTLY extended. Once above that level it WILL boil over. If the unit were of a lighter material (titanium) I would gladly pay the difference. The fuel type is not the best for high altitude or cold conditions.
ONLY STOVE YOU SHOULD EVER CONSIDER,

BEST STOVE EVER MADE.
By Zach from SLC, UT on 11/26/2006
Cons:
Poor temperature control
Don't own one personally - have some experience with my cousin's. One caution that I would suggest: Watch the temperature carefully!! At one point, the container started to boil over. While not a problem on most stoves, with the pot securely attached and scalding water flowing over the side, we had a difficult time fixing the scenario as the fuel control and the flame itself were difficult to access. Maybe wouldn't happen in ideal situations if we could watch it like a hawk, but as is, it was a decent waste of fuel and water.
If I didn't already have two cartridge stoves and multiple Ti/Al pots, I would consider the stove despite this shortcoming. Use caution above that required for a normal stove, however!

Purchased Jetboil after seeing it in use.
First use was desert camping. Fast boil times and minimal fuel use. All components (stability kit, fuel and coffee press) fit perfectly into the cup body. Coffee press was GREAT!
Very impressed with performance and ease of use.
Have not used it at altitude yet, will check it out at 9,000'+ in February.
