The knife does what it is supposed to. It is a small lightweight knife for an emergency type use (or even for meal preps or occasional use).

I ALWAYS carry a knife when I'm out of the house. I ONLY carry this knife if I am climbing, hiking, or mountaineering and need a lightweight alternative to my "good" knife.

The downside is the hole allows you to use this as attachment point is too small. You need a very large carabiner or the knife will not "hang" from the biner. I had to attach w/ 3mm cord to a binder.

Overall a good knife for it's LIMITED usage.

I bought this as a gift for one of my firefighters in my station. It has a great application because it is easily clipped to a carabiner

Not a true one hander, but...

Easy to clean, Easy to Use, Lightweight
Cons:
Not a one handed opener, Poor Grip
Best Uses:
Cragging, Great gift

This knife cannot be easily opened with one hand, a drawback while climbing. Also, the 'biner opening is a bit small, and requires a wiregate in order to rack it. On the plus side when racked, the knife is oriented such that an accidental opening is not possible unlike some other folders that when racked can open fully with the blade exposed, hanging down.

This knife while small and light requires a dedicated biner to rack.

Convenient climbing knife.

Good knife; nicee and compact. It was a little tricky to find a biner that it fits, but ovals work pretty well. It doesn't really open with one hand, though--but in an emergency you could probably make it work.

Also cuts bread and cheese for lunch!

Does NOT fit on oval or D biner

Doesn't fit on biner

Imagine a knife that fits on a biner clipped to your harness. Sounds great, right? The Spatha is NOT that knife. While it does have a whole large enough to pass through the gate of the biner, it cannot make it around the bend on an oval or D carabiner. Instead, I had to rig a 5mm cord (tied with a double fisherman knot) so that I could hang it from a carabiner clipped to my harness. Seems like they just could have made the whole larger. Despite the fact that I had to rig the biner/harness set-up myself, this knife if very light and will not accidentally open since it is operated by pinching the blue ring together in order to pivot the knife into an open position.

Cuts old tat well
By Lefty42Verified Purchaser from South Lake Tahoe, CA on 6/15/2006
Pros:
Easy to open, Lightweight
Cons:
Needs a caribiner to clip

I like this knife - it fits well in the hand and is lightweight. It would be nice if it were redisigned with it's own clip so you dont need another caribiner cluttering up your harness.
