Tested three weekends in a row. Worked well. Solid pack. If you aren't a lightweight packer though, this bag is not for you.

I have only just begun to use this pack. However the attention to detail is just outstanding given the price I paid. One such detail is in the chest support strap, it has a whisle built into the clip! The air cavity works as promised providing great ventilation on warm days.

I use this pack for three to five day trips into the Grand Canyon. It is my first very lightweight pack and I was very pleasantly surprised by how functional it is. The front pockets, hip belt pockets, and shovit pocket make organized packing and accessibility a breeze.

Another great aspect of this pack is what I don't notice about it. The back is so well ventilated I don't feel like I'm wearing an extra insulating layer. This is a real bonus when I'm hiking outta the Canyon in August.

My one beef: I haven't found a way to adjust or pack the thing so as not to make my shoulders or mid back a little sore. My Terraplane is so well fit to me it only hurts my shoulders when it has 75+ pounds in it. Maybe I'm just getting old and creaky.

A very good pack that rides well.
By HowardVerified Purchaser from Kentucky on 7/19/2007
Pros:
Belt pockets, Comfortable, Highly Adjustable, Lightweight, Plenty of pockets
Cons:
Difficult To Load

Used this pack for the first time on a multi-day Appalation Trail hike. Both my son and I have the same pack, so review is on both of these. Holds plenty of equipment with lots of storage space, number of pockets is good as well. I had no problems carrying 35 lbs over 12 miles of fairly diffucult AT sections. Part of hike was Roan Mt. NC and is a fairly steep climb. These packs rode very well, no soreness or problems with rubbing. The only disadvantage is the curve of the pack frame which makes getting larger items such as tent and sleeping bag harder to get into the pack. This means one must plan well on packing, but not a problem otherwise. I love the pack and recomend to everyone.

Pros:
Comfortable, Highly Adjustable, Large Capacity, Lightweight
Cons:
Difficult To Load

It's the most comfortable of all the packs without a doubt. If you put a full 3 liter bladder in the sleeve, loading and unloading the pack can be difficult. I like it though for comfort which is #1 for me

Great pack! Really like its ability to expand to accomdate additional load. You could describe it as stretchy. Very well designed and constructed. The small zipper compartments on the hip belt are very usesful. The detailed features like a whistle built into the sternum stap is a nice touch. I trimmed off a few labels and staps that I didn't need in order to reduce weight. Got the weight down to 2 lbs, 14 oz. Very comfortable, great load balance.
