Ultralight and extremely stable, the single wall, freestanding design of the Spectrum 33 from The North Face sets up quickly, is stable in rough weather and incorporates high-low venting for excellent airflow.
  • The fully seam-sealed canopy and fully taped ultralight floor provide outstanding protection from the elements
  • It incorporates Fusion Pitch - a combination of continuous pole sleeves for the main structural poles which provide excellent support, while additional poles easily clip-on allowing air to circulate freely between the canopy and fly
  • The canopy is secured to the poles with MicroClips that are light and simple plus they have improved strength and holding power
  • Two aluminum Nano-knuckles on the top cross pole allows venting on top of the tent
  • High-low venting with perimeter and overhead vents with zip closure
  • It uses a DAC reverse-combi pole system that makes the walls steeper and top flatter to maximize usable space; a lightweight aluminum hub connects the poles, eliminating unnecessary pole sections to reduce weight
  • Freestanding design with pull-out vestibule
  • The features are rounded out with reflective guyline and zipper cording, ultralight 1 inch poles sleeves, D-shaped door, and color-coded poles and it includes a compression stuff sack
  • Capacity / suggested use: 3 person / 3 season

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Purchased this week, [...] Used it for an overnight this weekend. Set up was easy and it appears to have ample strength. I like the design of the poles because the bend allows for a more upright wall. It got down to 28 degrees this weekend and the tent was comfortable for a couple of guys, but there is no way you could get 3 people in this thing. You could just get two ProLite pads side by side. Other than that, the condensation was pretty bad. I will say that we had the vent and the fly closed, but it was wet. I will try it again with the vent open and report back.

Service & Delivery comments:

Great Price! Great turn around time and great packaging.

Pros:
Easy to set up, Large area covered
Cons:
Does not breathe well
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Car Camping

This tent was bought with the weight factor and being a single wall as the most attractive aspects. Even with the front of the tent wide open at night and no rain condensation was a problem. It was running down the inside walls. My wife claims she has a cure for this and I can't wait to see it in action! It is very easy to set up and is very stable in the wind. When we did get rained on it did not leak anywhere. For the most part I think TNF has a good product here.
