Awesome product for get a better balance while climbing....
Great fun as an addition to any workout. The things you can do with this are endless. I workout 5 days a week and found this as a great tool to add more variety to a workout. My only negative is that it leaves black marks on the floor in non carpeted rooms.
Had one as a kid and loved it. Built one in wood shop in high school, but wore it out. I was happy to find the updated version is even better than the orginal. Great for the quads, concentration and balance.
I got the Bongo Board for my girlfriend for Christmas and she's stoked to have it. It's pretty simple and works as imagined. I've used one before and they're fun and great for "passive" training. Just hanging out on it will build your balance, and they're FUN! (Most important.)
On-line, item was in stock and was to be delivered on time. I called to see about it when it didn't arrive on time: Mtn Gear folks were professional, very courteous and friendly. Also very helpful: item was sold out and would be overnighted as soon as it arrived (was going to be late for xmas, though). Well, it arrived maybe a bit late, but before xmas and the whole situation was handled very well. It's so nice to see customer service personnel who understand their jobs, are happy to help, and are helpful. Kudos to you guys and the great job you are doing! Keep it up and have a phenomenal new year!
I bought the product to improve balance and condition my legs for running and cycling. It is really doing the trick. Best of all it's fun! I've even got my kids doing it. I like how the cord keeps the cylinder and board together. I've ridden ones that come apart and that can be dangerous, especially when friends come over and try it and don't really know what they are doing. I've had a board crash into furniture and do some real damage. That wouldn't happen with this model. The travel is a bit short for me (I'm 6'1"), I'd like maybe 6" more, though that would probably make it more difficult to use for the average person. So, it was a great purchase and I'm feeling the positive results in both balance and leg strength.
Board will definitely improve balance and coordination. Learning curve is steep for some users.
Product arrived with cosmetic blemishes and a (hopefully) surface crack on one end, which we are hoping won't result in a short useful life for the board.
My 8 & 11 yr old sons love it.
This is their daily exercise.
I had to quit mountain biking after a back injury a couple years ago, and found my myself getting "weak" with my balance. When it got to the point where I could not stand on the subway and drink a coffee without keeping a death grip on the pole, I looked for a way to get back in touch with my balance. The bongo board is a safe and fun way to do it. It is quiet, takes up no space, and is instantly challenging and engaging. I have a plethora of exercise tools collecting dust in the closet, but the bongo board is actually getting daily use.Minus one star for the price... seems steep for a deck and a plastic beer can. Then again, I drop $[...] on drinks after work.
From the 16 year old in the family to the 54 year old, we are all having fun bongo-ing! Friends who stop by get hooked too.
I love it. So does my 7 year old daughter, who is really smooth. Youth has its privileges.
Used one in the my younger years to work on balance and mobliity for the ski team, now my son is working on his balance and endurance, and the wife is working on her hips and thighs.

It's fun to watch old people try to use the bongo board.
