Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Inner gloves are too bulky for these gloves. I replaced the inner glove with a pair of Hardwear thin fleece gloves. Works really good. I used them recently on a route up Mt. Hood here in oregon ice climbing and hiking.

Outer "shell" is very nice but.."
By Eric from ColoradoVerified Purchaser from San Antonio, TX on 12/15/2006
Comfort:
Constricts movement
Sizing:
Feels half size too small
Pros:
Tough
Cons:
Poor Fit, Too Bulky
Best Uses:
Casual Wear, Travel

I really like the outer leather "shell", however the removable fleece liners are TOO TIGHT. They restrict finger movement and they can be tricky to reinsert.

If they made these gloves with a thinner liner that was sewn in, they would be perfect!

Sweaty hands
By Ice climber from North Conway, NH on 3/29/2006
Pros:
Comfortable
Cons:
can't put liner back in when wet, hands get sweaty
Best Uses:
Mountaineering

These gloves seemed good for ice climbing, but at a belay I took my hands out (leaving the liners on) to adjust gear and couldn't get them back in afterward. I had to ditch the liners and then just use the outer gloves. It would help if these things breathed better to more rapidly eliminate sweat.

Pros:
Lightweight, Snug, Tough
Best Uses:
Backcountry use, skiing

Great for those days that do not demand the heaviest insulated gear and multiple layers. Precise grips, nice velcro straps, easy-on easy-off design make these Mountain Hardwear gloves another winning addition to your outdoor sports wardrobe.

Great gloves. Heavy duty leather lasts. Love them for cutting wood, looking good, and lasting.
