Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I switched from Atlas reluctantly when my Atlas binding strap broke and was sent in for repair. As far as I'm concerned there's only two brands worth owning and that's Atlas and MSR. I was concerned the MSR would have too much traction to allow sliding downhill through light snow, but they feel more secure and stable. Not in love with the MSR binding system compared with Atlas, but it works. The narrower womens' model does stride better than the mens' width model for me even though I'm tall. The MSRs are definitely lighter weight and, over a long hard trip, it makes a big difference. I'm a convert to MSR. When the Atlas come back, I'll save them for friends to use.
