I own three sets of snowshoes. Red Feather and the original MSR plastic snoshoes. I LOVE my old MSR's but the new MSR Denali are a definite improvement.
I've used these snowshoes during a backcountry snowboarding trip in Northern Japan and while climbing Mt. Oku-Shirane in Nikko, Japan. Excellent floation and sure grip on steep, icy surfaces.
The only complaint I have, which are true for ALL snowshoes, they are kind of bulky hanging off the back of my pack, but the MSR Denali's are very light and the weight is not noticeable. THey do have a tendency to snag on branches and/or brush.., but that applies to all snowshoes.
I'd recommend the MSR Denali's to ANYONE who hikes snowboards/ski in deep powder.
