No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Great plus: Does not affect the taste of water or gatorade. Problem: the lid is too small; unattached to bottle, thus, easy to lose. Another negative: lacking grip (slippery). I've used it to carry gatorade to work. I may try to carry and use it while fly-fishing, but am concerned about the unattached lid falling into the river etc.
