"Don't Drop Watch" more accurate....
By Adventure Travel business owner from Connecticut on 6/4/2008
Pros:
Accurate
Cons:
Bulky, Fragile glass
Describe Yourself:
Athletic, Practical, Stylish
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

A combination of my clumsy fingers and a bulky, stiff, and uncomfortable band led to my losing my grip while putting this on my wrist. The very top heavy watch flopped face first onto a tile floor and immediately shattered, rendering the watch useless within days after I got it. It's cheap enough at the sale price, but I'm done with this product and will look elswhere for a more durable watch.

Tank of a Watch

Bulky, No light
Best Uses:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I was looking for a durable watch that I could wear at work, and on all occasions away from work.
Watch band appears to be quite durable, I don't think I'll ever have to replace it. The Japanese movement is quite accurate. The only major drawback is that there is no light and the painted hands aren't bright enough to see at night. However, this appears to be a watch that I can depend on for a number of years.

I was a little apprehensive about getting another watch, but you can't beat MG's sale prices. I was surprised at how stiff the watch band was, but after a few hours I didn't notice it on my wrist at all. The band doesnt have a cheap plastic feel to it, but is very rugged and inflexible. The watch face seems fairly standard, and I don't plan on scratching it on purpose to find out. The dial doesn't have any glow in the dark functionality, or a backlight.

Overall, I'm impressed with my first watch from Fortress. I think the company might want to research some different colour schemes, allowing more casual wear.

This is my daily wear watch. The band is initially somewhat uncomfortable, but breaks in after a week or two. Wear it loose. I've had mine for a few months and I often forget that I'm wearing it.The mineral glass crystal is extremly hard and scratch resistant. The glow in the dark markings are hard to see at night, that is the only negative I have for it. Can't beat it for the price.

I don't think the band is that bad, I have had mine a couple weeks and it is already very comfortable, and the band has loosened up a bit.

Not quite what I expected
By maxVerified Purchaser from St Louis, MO on 10/18/2007
Pros:
Accurate
Cons:
Bulky
Best Uses:
Daily Use
Describe Yourself:
Athletic, High End Shopper, Stylish
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Overall the watch was bigger than I expected; less classy than it appeared in the photo. Most importantly, the band is designed for a person with a rather "thick" wrist which I don't have.

nice watch
By das andere meVerified Purchaser from washington, dc on 8/16/2007
Pros:
Accurate, Durable, Stylish
Cons:
Bulky, Stiff rubber strap
Best Uses:
Daily Use
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

As others have said, the watch strap is pretty stiff which makes the watch feel bulkier. Best worn with short sleeves or very loose long sleeve cuffs.

Good and Basic watch
By JasonVerified Purchaser from Denver, Colorado on 8/15/2007
Pros:
Accurate, Durable, Stylish
Cons:
horrible band
Best Uses:
Daily Use
Describe Yourself:
Athletic, Practical
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I think I would sum up this watch by saying it's very basic, hopefully durable, and relatively stylish. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but so far all is well. The band that it comes with is pretty horrendous (and extremely uncomfortable), so plan to replace that immediately. Also, with a [$] price tag (retail), I can't believe it doesn't have some sort of backlight. BUT, for the [$] sale price [...], it's tough to complain.

Great Watch, Very Durable, Solid Construction and Warranty

Good and bad...
By Oregon StudentVerified Purchaser from Eugene, OR on 7/23/2007
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The sale price for this watch makes it a good value. However, the included watch strap is completely unacceptable... but you can get a nice new one [...]. Factor this into the price. This watch seems quite accurate and durable, and is SUPER thin, which prevents it from sticking out / getting in the way. All in all, this wristwatch is a good basic timepiece that would be suited for anything outdoor. The orange face is quite nice... and EASY to read.Bottom Line: Buy it for the sale price... but not for full price.

Best Uses:
Daily Use, Travel
Describe Yourself:
Athletic, Classic, High End Shopper, Practical
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Liked the watch very much right out of the box. I'm very pleased with the size of the face although I thought that the watch would be a little thicker from the face to the back - it's a thin watch. I agree with the other reviews - the band could be a little more pliable and less rigid. Overall, I'm pleased with the watch - I now own the black and grey one. I've subsequently ordered the orange and black one [...]

Pros:
Accurate, Shock proof, Simple Interface, Waterproof
Best Uses:
Day Trips
Describe Yourself:
Avid Adventurer
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I wanted a watch that just tells time; not beep, sign, or tell me where I am (or not). This is the perfect "day" watch. This is the second Drop that I own; the first is still great after a year of getting slammed into rocks while kayaking. For the second, I just wanted an orange watch to match my drysuit.

Great looking watch!
By jman1039Verified Purchaser from East Brunswick, NJ on 3/19/2007
Pros:
Accurate, Great look
Cons:
Wrist band
Best Uses:
Backcountry Camping, Campgrounds, Day Trips, Road Trips

Love the way is looks! The only con I see is that the wrist band is made of very stiff rubbery material.

Lives up to promises
By BoscoVerified Purchaser from Misawa City, Japan on 1/31/2007
Pros:
Accurate, Shock proof, Simple Interface, Waterproof
Cons:
Luminescent markers, Night Visibility
Best Uses:
Backcountry, Kayaking/Water Sports, Orienteering
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Good, solid watch that lives up to its promise as a tough, simple and functional timepiece. Night visibility could be better. The hands and face also look a little cheap up close, but not bad. Definitely worth the sale price.

Simple Durable Time & Date, No whistles
By Lolo PassVerified Purchaser from Idaho on 1/5/2007
Pros:
Accurate, Shock proof, Simple Interface, Waterproof
Best Uses:
Backcountry, Kayaking/Water Sports

My last watch had a users manual with poor instructions in 44 languages.

This watch offers bombproof time & date. It's rugged, good looking, and doesn't require computer programming skills to change time zones.
