This is an awesome glove for its designed purpose, which is lightweight stretchy protection. It is great for spring and fall conditions, and I have used it several times in high-output cold conditions (5-15 F.). Having said that, it is only good in the winter if you are moving. Once the heartrate drops, go for full-on winter gloves instead. I have used this glove extensively for cold weather running and mountain biking, and in these uses, the glove excels. I would highly recommend this glove to anyone who has a need for light grippy windproof gloves in their gear lineup.

I bought these gloves to use as a liner under heavy mitts for when I dog mush. To protect my hands from frequent gangline snap/clip handling, metal food pans, sled hooks, etc., while maintaining near-bare-handed dexterity is critical. The palm and finger tip leather is supple and tough for rough use. I have fairly broad hands and the large size is a bit narrow across the palm/back of my hand, and the fingers a bit too long; however the fabric has good stretch and once I wriggle my fat hand in, the fit is fine. Removing the gloves is much easier than putting them on. At first I was worried the tightness when putting them on would be a problem, but the snugness once on is a primary feature contributing to dexterity. They are also thin enough that when used inside mitts my hands warm quickly. They are water resistant, but not water proof. Once wet, however, they dry very quickly, including the even more water resistant leather reinforcements. They are pricy, but have saved my hands from frequent handling of metal dog gear in sub-zero weather. Their wind resistence is a primay feature for their purchase as there are many liner-style gloves that would provide contact protection but very poor wind protection. I'd buy another at full price, and snap up several if they ever go on sale!

Took the gloves into the San Juan's for an early winter trip... worked great. Easy to pack, light, warm for their size and weight, and snug enough to maintain dexterity. Great for alpine work.
