OR has promoted these mitts as a replacement for their now defunct Rain Mitts. The advantage of these Mitts over the lighter, more snug, more stylish Rain Mitts is a more generous opening to insert one's hand and a better gripping surface. Hardly a fair trade-off for the heavier, clunkier, stiff, and more expensive Endeavor Mitts.
I use these mitts with an inner Dachstein wool mitten for skiing. They are really too stiff for one to manuver their hand easily through a ski pole strap. So I am unhappy with them compared to my old Rain Mitt favorites.
On the plus side, the Endeavor mitts are well made and would probably be great for activities in which manual dexterity is less important.
