This glove is by far one of the better gloves that I have tried. I have spent 50 to 60 dollars on gloves before by north face, dakine, and columbia and have not had them be as functional as this glove. It kept we warm and dry through 4 days of hard skiing and never broke down, or got in the way. The soft shell outer kept it close to my hand allowing for a snug fit and great movement. The best thing about the glove was its ability to keep me warm with out the extra bulk. most gloves need an additional thermal layer to get the job done and then they become too bulky and restrict hand movement. However this was not the case. it also was very easy taking on and off adn the liners would not get jumbled on the instide causing problems when putting them back on. I highly recommend this glove it is truly superb.

Ice climbing

This is my favorite all around glove for ice climbing. I guess there are other gloves that are better for some applications (arctic, extreme mixed, etc. -- not that I am qualified to comment on those :-). I think this glove has a good balance between dexterity and warmth, and is for me just right for ice climbing and mountaineering in the lower 48. It fits well, is warm and comfortable, and the palm is durable enough for rope work. The dexterity is good enough to allow placing pro and clipping ropes with the gloves on. Depending on conditions I'll wear them alone, or with a thin liner glove. The fit is just right to allow that.

I don't like wrist straps on gloves, because on days I'm using leashes the straps create pressure points, and they keep the leashes from properly rotating around the wrist (like when reaching up to the head of the tool). So I like the fact that this glove does not have a wrist strap.

The gauntlet that covers the wrist is just about the right length. I hate long gauntlets because they are a pain to get in and out of, but I do like to have some coverage on my wrist to help keep out water and snow on days with "full conditions".

Even at full retail price this glove represents a great value compared to many of the gloves out there. On sale price it's a steal.
