BD Stratos Glove Winter Backpacking
By R. W. KnoxVerified Reviewer from Cresskill, NJ on 2/1/2007
Comfort:
Breathable
Sizing:
Feels true to size
Pros:
Durable, Good Grip
Cons:
Not warm enough
Best Uses:
Backcountry
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

For my hands, only warm enough to about zero degrees, below that - need mittens. Thus, I would recommend to a friend with such limitations.

Super Warm is an understatement
By sfcycleVerified Purchaser from San Francisco, CA on 2/23/2006
Pros:
Tough
Cons:
Bulky, no "clip" to attach to jacket

Broke these in on a snowmobiling trip in WY in -26 weather. Performed better than expected. I didn't have to use the handwarmers on the snowmachine. The rest of the weekend, they kept my hands toasty on the ski slopes. Although the inner lining is removeable, it's not worth much as a glove on its own. Use these if you know it's going to be cold, and you don't care about the bulk.

Tough, well made
Cons:
Bulky
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Ice Climbing - Belay Glove, Skiing / Boarding, Snowshoeing

Well made warm glove to be sure. Depending on how tightly you get them to fit without going too small, the fingertip dexterity might be an issue. They are super warm for belaying on an ice climb and work pretty well following if you are not removing ice screws, etc. Great boarding or ski glove as well. [...]
