Light Weight, Big Warmth
By Z manVerified Purchaser from Eagle, CO on 3/6/2006
Pros:
Compact, Lightweight, Very warm
Best Uses:
Car Camping, Walking around Silverton at night

Very light weight but exceptional warmth. You can be wearing this jacket and not even realize it. Pockets are lined nicely and provide additional warmth for your hands. Too warm for me to ski with but perfect companion next to the camp fire on cold mornings or crusing around town.

it is what it is...
By twiggboyVerified Purchaser from Portland, Maine on 2/27/2006
Pros:
Compact, Lightweight, really warm layer under a shell
Cons:
no cell phone pocket, sleeve cuffs not a good fit, the collar is not as good a fit
Best Uses:
as a really warm layer, Backpacking, Day trip, Hiking

I bought this jacket as an everyday wear jacket with the intention of throwing it in the pack on bigs ski/cold weather hiking days. I would definitely recomend it if you are looking for a down layer to go under a shell. It is light and compacts well, but the fit is uncharacteristic of Cloudveil: just OK.
