I have found nothing that fits as well as the monkey man. Gives great room in the shoulders while still maintaining a tapered fit at the abdomen.

Warm jacket
By Dave from Bloomington, IL on 11/11/2006
Fit:
Feels too small
Sleeve Length:
Feels true to length
Pros:
Breathable, Lightweight, Warm
Cons:
Torso Too Short
Best Uses:
Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping

Order a size up if you intend to wear this as an outer layer. I am 6'2" 190lbs. and the large is a bit tight on me. If you're intending to wear it strictly as an insulation layer under your shell, then order true to size.

Nice warm jacket.

Light but Warm Fleece.
By SharkyVerified Reviewer from Hobart, Tas. on 5/6/2006
Pros:
Breathable, Lightweight, Warm
Cons:
No Wind Protection, Pile Mats
Best Uses:
Under a Shell

Astounding warmth for weight in a fleece. Feels warm but almost weightless, almost like wearing a light down jacket. It has negligible wind resistance, so needs to be worn under a shell, and is cut slim to facilitate this. The collar is warm and is cut close, but looks a bit naff. I have found the outer pile to mat down under pack straps, so I have some concern over the durability.

Light, warm, simple
By MtnfreakVerified Purchaser from Loma Linda, CA on 4/3/2006
Pros:
Comfortable, Lightweight, Tight fitting
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Hiking, Mountaineering

This jacket fits tight. I wear Mtn Hardware M, but a L in this jacket still fit snug, which is good, no free air space makes it a very warm jacket comparable to 300 weight fleece, but a lot lighter and more compressable. It has a warm tight collar and simple large pockets with zippers that work perfectly. Remember that is is not at all wind-proof, but paired with the phantom anorak it is super versatile.

Good Buy
By BenVerified Purchaser from Madison, WI on 1/24/2006
Pros:
Good Value, High Quality
Best Uses:
Everyday wear, backpacking

Super warm, but the wind will cut right through it. Great in combination with a shell for extra warmth.

must have, looks and feels cool
By Mountain Hardware freakVerified Purchaser from castaic, CA on 1/23/2006
Pros:
Compact
Cons:
its to warm
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip

Extreamly warm I recommed this product. A little to warm for layering. Great for outer jacket or under a shell. They run a little small so if your between sizes get the next size up.

A nice addition
By The climbing blacksmithVerified Purchaser from Springfield, Missouri on 1/20/2006
Pros:
Compact, Lightweight, non restrictive
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Car Camping, climbing, Day trip, Hiking

This is a great jacket. It is very light, warm and compressible. Warning, it is cut very trim and will only fit over a light base layer. It also requires a shell if you are going to be in the wind. Personally, I see these as positives rather than negatives The jacket works great for me.
