Wonderful cushioning underfoot, wicks away sweat and mesh lets feet breath. Great for any athletic pursuit. Impeccably constructed and finished (like Patagonia or Arc'Teryx). I will be buying more of these.

As a regular "Intelligent" Wool user, I added a couple pair of Darn Tough socks simply to qualify for free shipping. The price was reasonable enough. What a find!! The 1/4 Sock Mesh have been my go-to warm weather runner, while the Micro Crew Cushion is a great fall/winter runner/hiker. Note: Buy the lady her own pair!
These really are "Darn Tough". I'm wearing through many socks in less than a year. I wear them for hikes, running, or everyday use. I'm going on year 3 with these and they still look great. They have become one of my favorite socks so I wear them often. They may not be cheap, but they last a long time. My feet perspire a great deal, but they still keep my feet dry. After washing them, be sure to hang dry them instead of baking them in a dryer on high heat. You can use a dryer, but they'll last longer if you hang-dry them. I hang-dry all my wool products just to get maximum life out of the garments. They dry so quickly it won't take long to dry them at room temp.
