No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Used it while hiking in Anchorage (Spring/early April). Warm and cozy, but feels itchy against the forehead. A fleece lining might have been better. Seems more suited for wearing around town.

Will be fun to wear in winter, cool fall or spring mornings and evenings. Will be great for Mt. Diablo camping in evenings when you want your head covered, but not too much!
