Washes well and keeps you warm. I love wearing it kayaking because when it gets wet it keeps my head warm. Last years hat was a little smaller and I liked that fit a bit better.

Best lightweight hat for high energy activities in cold weather. Does not get soaked easily, I like it for running/hiking in moderately wet conditions or colder. I tend to get wet from the inside out, this is the only hat I have found that breathes well enough so my sweat evaporates.

It's an excellent item for low to no wind situations and/or when you are plenty warm/completely-outfitted and can handle a semi-cooled head. It doesn't do well enough say on an exposed ridgeline on a cold winter day or full moon snowshoeing night. It's tolerable though as mentioned above, but a windstopper or Dome Perignon would be better at times. Casually, it's wonderful, handsome, lightweight, etc.
Don't put in dryer! They shrink and lose tightness and then ride up. You may be able to pull it back some but it's not the same. May want to handwash too- cleans easily (especially recommend an Earth-friendly detergent, thank you). I've had a few last several years when I laundered carefully enough.
