Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I use this jacket for cross country skiing when we stop to eat or rest, to stay warm. It's perfect because it packs so small and is lightweight. Great also for windy, cold weather hiking. I wear it for walks, around town to run errands, and to work on casual days. Jacket isn't good for heavy rain as it's only water resistant. I also like the close fit. A near perfect jacket.

Got this baby a couple weeks ago just in time for some cold weather. I wanted dual use not only for backpacking but casual wear too. This fits the bill. Stylish, not too bulky, very light and packs down into a tiny bag. Sheds mild rain, but I have a shell if needed.
I spent some time looking and felt this had the all around best use and bang for the buck!

Pros:
Lightweight, Warm
Cons:
Light color transparent, No butt protection
Best Uses:
Cold Weather

Pick the darker color as this blue allows you to see the feathers underneath.
the jacket is light and packs down well to fit in the back pack.
There are lots of seams that are not taped and so it requires seamsealer to help it be more waterproof.
But it is short and does not cover your butt.
I am curvy and so the upper part is slightly big but the hip area is slightly tight.
A fleece fits underneath but sticks out below. it fits under a windstopper.
Don't go to Everest with this!

Great buy. Fits true to size. Bought a size 8 so that if I wear a sweater underneath it would not be tight. (I am a size 4). Love the Kingfisher blue color, very light in weight and is true to length , did not fall short above the waist (size 8). Have not tested it yet in cold weather, waiting on winter.

Great Jacket

Pros:
Lightweight, Warm
Cons:
Doesn't Breathe
Best Uses:
Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping

Love this jacket. I needed a warm jacket that is not too bulky. Extremely warm. When others are cold, I am always warm. Its so nice and puffy, but can compress down to almost nothing. Great for backpacking. I dont know how it does in the rain.
Only downside, is that it feels like the fabric will rip easily. Mine has not ripped, but the fabric feels like if it gets caught on something it will tear.
But its a mountain hardware and they have a great warranty.

Best Uses:

This coat is just what you need for backpacking in cool to cold weather. Very light and Very packable. I love to show it off to my friends just how small it gets in the stuff sack. I normally where a small or an 8, but ordered a 10 to be safe. I plan on putting a fleece or soft shell underneath it (if I would ever need to...it really warm) and then a Gortex on top, if raining. If you don't need the layering, go to your true size. The 10 is a bit big, by itself, for me.
And man is this little number SOFT. My granddaughter can't keep her hands off it. The fleece lined pockets are a big bonus for me..I have cold hands. I have the Kingfisher blue....Beautiful. Buy it, you won't be sorry!!

I usually wear a small, but exchanged for extra small so the down would fit close---so toasty as a liner, but will wear alone too because it looks so good! Especially nice the way it is so light and packable--I will take it everywhere.
