I would recomen buying this jacket no its actualy not thinner its just a different kind aof jacket its made for lighter wieght wearers, so if ur in the market for a great jacket for a good price for your child or yourself i would most def. recomend this jacket!! It's the kind of jacket you wear when its raining, snowing, at school/work pretty much everywhere!
Description says 100% polyester...only the lining is...I have many north face jackets...I know and love the quality...but this jacket is much thinner than the other 3 bionic jackets I own...I ordered the molten red...a nice looking jacket but lacking the quality tnf is known for. If you want one of these order the full price youth bionic, I know this one has a much lower price but you get what you pay for....I also ordered the black youth bionic...much thicker (although still not as thick as the adult version)...but a much nicer coat...youth windwall is a great jacket with good quality.
My husband, my oldest son and I all have a bionic in adult sizes. We love our jackets. I purchased this one for my youngest son and was shocked at the difference. It is not a fitted jacket with tapered sleeves to keep the drafts out and more importantly the material is much thinner....sub-standard by comparison. My adult jacket is actually smaller than this youth size and my jacket is far heavier. You would expect a reputable company like north face would be just as concerned with keeping our children wrapped in warmth and quallity as they the adults....but I suppose the children don't line thier pockets as we do so therefore why not skimp on them??????

My whole family wears fleece three seasons, but one of the big drawbacks is that the static electricity and texture of normal fleece actually attracts our dog's hair--- but not on this jacket. It is a pleasure!!
