Bought this jacket in fall 2006 for a climbing expedition in Moab, UT. Fantastic warmth, durability, and weight. Packed down great and kept good shape when I unrolled it. I had on multiple layers underneath and I'm a 5'8" female. Wears well in mild and moderate conditions! Was awesome for belaying but I took it off to climb. I have scraped it over rock faces many a time without any change in the material.

I bought this coat in pink for my 22 year old daughter. We bought a size 8; she is 130, 65". The coat fit great. She loved the color since she is a girly girl. This is a nice lightweight down coat for temperaturs above zero. Anything cooler, I would recommend a longer waist length coat with a thicker hood like the one Moonstone makes.

Although the Rosie colored jacket seems to get dirty, it really has not been that big of a deal at all.

Jacket feels true to size in width and arm length, but torso length is a little short. Initially, I was kind of disappointed in this, but after wearing the jacket while belaying, I realize that short is nice because it won't get in the way of my harness. And, it is amazingly warm - can wear without a shell even though the seams are stitch-through and not baffled.

This is a great jacket for the price. It packs up well and leaves lots of room for layering. It fits petite sizes well (I bought the small and found that the sleeve length was perfect, which rarely happens).

I have a Mountain Hardwear "Downtown" jacket. I love it and so did my 11 year old daughter. She kept wearing mine. She wanted me to buy her one in pink. The pink in that style looked too light and I knew she would get it dirty so when I found this darker pink in the "sub zero" I was so excited. After reading the reviews about them fitting small I knew the extra small would fit her. She absolutely loves it and she looks so cute. Plus I have my jacket back. If you have never owned a down coat, you really need to give it a try. They are so warm.

SUB ZERO RUNS SMALL!
By Wishing it FitVerified Purchaser from Chicago, IL on 1/16/2007
Fit:
Feels too small
Sleeve Length:
Feels too short
Chest Size:
Feels too big
Pros:
Good colors for women, Lightweight, Warm
Cons:
not waterproof
Best Uses:
Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Windy Chicago winters
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I usually wear a size 2 or 4 jacket, and I ordered a 6 upon reading a review at another website that said the jacket ran small and to order a size bigger. I ordered a size 6 and when it arrived, the sleeves didn't even reach my wrists! Also, the waist did not reach my hip bones. If I want a warm coat, I want it to cover me! If you are very petite, it might do well, but if you are average - long armed it is a very poor fit! I had to send it back immediately. It would have been cute, had it fit correctly.

Jacket feels good so far, though it's not that cold out. I'm disappointed in the actual color of it, versus the color shown on internet and in catalog. It's a much lighter "ice blue" color, rather than what is depicted. Oh well, I was happy to see the size 6 fit like an acutal size 6! Can't wait for winter!

Brought this for my girlfriend for a climb on shasta made a perfect insulation layer great quality and very well made. BUT be warned like all MH products they are form fitting they are not baggy in the slightest and are short, I guess to accomodate harnesses. Just be aware and size acordingly.
