Pants uncomfortable
By opddtVerified Purchaser from Fairhope, AL on 4/5/2008
Waist:
Feels true to size
Length:
Feels too long
Pros:
Breathable, Itch severely at zipper, Lightweight, Packable
Cons:
Chafes, Inside seams too rough
Best Uses:
none of above due to itch
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I began to experience a ring of rash on thighs at zipper with the first wearing on a hike. On examination, the seams on the inside were not tacked down or sealed in any way and contained multiple layers, none of which isolated the zipper from my skin. I'm not sure whether the zipper, the bulk of the seams at the zipper, or the chemical used for UV protection was to blame since this was the primary area rubbing against me, but I cannot wear the pants for long without developing a rash. I have owned North Face's Meridian convertible pants in the past and loved them, so these pants were a huge disappointment.

This pant is a must have for traveling
By Texas LadyVerified Purchaser from Dallas, Texas on 7/6/2006
Pros:
Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable, Stylish
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel

This style of pant is the best of both worlds! Traveling across Europe brought all types of weather. I was able to wear them as pants or zip the legs off and have shorts when I needed them. Easy to wash out and hang for a quick dry, so as to be ready for the next day. Lightweight for packing, but durable for wearing over and over again. Would buy this product again!

Not good
By RozVerified Purchaser from Fairfield CA on 6/26/2006
Pros:
Breathable, Lightweight, Packable
Cons:
Bulky, Poor Material or Construction
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking

These pants had a lot of bulk in the front that made me look bloated. Not well fitting at all.

I really like these pants as they fit really well without adding bulk. They are very comfortable and I really like the convenience that they zip off into shorts. They washed up well after wearing too.
