I previously had the Theta SK Bibs,I bought in 2006 with Goretex XCR fabric. Great bib pants, super durable.
new Theta SV bib is same design, in Goretex Pro Shell. I like Goretex Pro material, durable, with two jackets I own from Arc'teryx
My only concern is the new SV bib DOESN"T have the reinforced knee and seat fabric, of the Theta SK bibs. No reinforcemnet in knee at all, just Goretex fabric, and I ski with knee pads, trolling for rock and stumps.
So I hope they hold up as well as earlier bibs
when I hit rocks, or stumps!!

Just came back from a week skiing in Park City and I loved these pants. Fit well but didn't restrict my movements. The cuff of the leg fits around my ski boot with ease which other pants have not. Called Arcteryx before I puchased and they went and measured the cuff for me so I could but on my boot and measure to ensure it fit. That's great customer service. I also have been really happy with Mountain Gear and have purchased items from them for at least 7 years.

best pants ever. strong material where you need it most. great side zips for venting on uphill slogs. highly waterproof

These have served me well from glacier hikes to glade skiing. The fit is an excellent athletic fit and properly articulated for activity. The lower materiel is very durable and has stood up to scree skiing and other highly abrasive activities better than any previous pant I have owned. The only thin materiel is in the upper bib part, which took me about two years of use before I ripped it (These pants have been abused). Arc'teryx fixed it free of charge. It was not a major issue because in harsh weather that part is covered by your jacket anyway. The only downfall is the price. I bought them on discount, but any serious outdoors person can justify the cost if you are in harsh environments and can't afford to have your pants rip.

Works great in windy, snowy, cold conditions, keeps me my legs and back dry unlike the other pants I've worn. Worth the extra money.

I ordered and returned this same model about 8 years ago - bad fit, construction, etc. I've been using some TNF pants which are fine, but I much prefer bibs. This current version is close to perfect.
