First, as another reviewer observed, the lamp shuts off unexpectedly. At first I thought it was because of low batteries, but new ones didn't fix the problem. Would light for several minutes, then shut off. I could get it to turn back on, but it would just stay lit for a few minutes. Also, the clip that attaches the light to the strap is really flimsy. Mine broke into several pieces INSIDE A HEADLAMP CASE! BD usually provides good products, but this isn't one of them. No wonder MH has them on sale.

These are basic headlamps, good as an emergency backup or for kids. They have 2 brightness settings, so it works ok for reading in a tent too. It's very lightweight, so quite comfortable, however, it doesn't have a very concentrated beam, and isn't designed to put out the light of more expensive units. I would not reccomend using this for any kind of prolonged night activity. For me, it's a car-camping headlamp, and I carry it as a lightweight backup light for first aid or to change the batteries on my real headlamp.

I purchased the product last minute on the way to the Black Canyon and this headlamp almost killed me and my partner. Flickering on and off every few seconds and then finally not turning on, forcing us to solo (with no light) to the summit. This is why its a [$] headlamp, BD is discounting quality on this one.

We purchased 7 of these to use for safety and visability while we walk our 5 dogs at dusk or evening hours. Fit good around dogs necks behind collars. Good price. Lightweight. 2 of the 7 just stopped working for no reason. Won't turn on. Wiggled parts and eventually one started working again. Fragile connections. The strap can be difficult to attach and keep in place- a little confusing.

Not bright enough for finding your route in the 3am dark while leaving the hut. Altough a nice little lamp for the basecamp

Everything about the light. We also use them as reading lamps when in bed, as there less disruptive for the one sleeping next to you, on those nights you have to finish just one more chapter!

This is the ideal Christmas gift. 6 lucky friends will be getting one. EVERYONE can use a headlamp. I personally keep one at home, in my backpack, and in the glove-compartment of my vehicle, at all times. Its compact design and its ease of use are fabulous!

This is a good light for recreational use or casual campsite camping. If you are doing something a little more adventurous I would get something a little more durable and bright.
