I do a lot of winter survey work, including work in/around karst and caves. The Arc gloves have a good, snug fit that allows for dextrous movement of fingers/hands. The palms and fingers also have good, grippy Pittards leather. If you hate bulky cold weather gloves these are for you.

I use the BD Pilot gloves with a merino liner for climbing ice, but in really cold temps, I wanted something warmer. They fit well, but the built-in liner is a colossal pain in the buttocks. If there is even a tiny bit of moisture on my hands, the liner sticks to my skin and shifts when I switch to my belay goves, making it difficult to get my fingers back in when its time to climb again. If I sized up to be able to accommodate my merino liners, I lose all-important dexterity for placing screws and clipping biners. If you have hands that never sweat, these gloves would be great. My search for the perfect glove continues...

My go-to gloves for backcountry skiing

By Dennis

from Undisclosed

Comments about Black Diamond Arc Glove:

I'm on my 3rd pair of the Arc Gloves and I hope BD continues this line. I love the dexterity and relative warmth as long as you are moving. Of course they are not meant to be the warmest gloves and I almost always bring a warmer set for extended breaks and descents.

Good Grip but snug fit!

By Cyril

from Canadian Rockies

Comments about Black Diamond Arc Glove:

I love the grippy texture which makes it easier to hang on to an ice tool in moderate weather. I do find the gloves snug as others have reported and they can be difficult to get back on when your hands are wet. Perhaps size them up one size if you can and this may resolve the issue.

Good insulation and dexterity combination

By Matthew

from Anchorage, AK, USA

Comments about Black Diamond Arc Glove:

Glove offers great dexterity while providing moderate insulation. I like them for ice climbing, mostly because of the dexterity they offer. I can easily wear them down to single digits. The biggest flaw is that the liner will slide out of the fingers when your hands are sweaty and you don't take the gloves off carefully.

Good Glove

By Russell

from Undisclosed

Comments about Black Diamond Arc Glove:

I like that they are really light weight and waterproof. The dexterity is unbeatable. They are pretty tight though. I am in the middle of the size range and they are as tight as I would ever want a glove. If you're on the high end of a size range you may want to size up.

Good glove with grip

By Adam

from Alaska

Comments about Black Diamond Arc Glove:

I broke these gloves in early season climbing but after taking them in my camera backpack that's where they stay. Great for shooting photos as you can hold on to your camera but still adjust settings without having to take your gloves off. Great for climbing too and keep you warmer then you would think.

They Were Great Until...

By andrew

from Stuttgart, Germany

Comments about Black Diamond Arc Glove:

Good glove for alpine climbing or spring skiing until you have to take them off. The slightest bit of moisture on your hand makes it ridiculously hard to get them back on, that is if the liner hasn't pulled out of the fingers. Then it really is nearly impossible to get them back on. Aside from that the grip on these gloves are great, perfect for climbing in the Berner or Walliser Alps.

Great glove!

By BEN

from Montana

Comments about Black Diamond Arc Glove:

I just wore the BD Arc Glove for the first time on an incredibly wet, windy day at Fernie BC and they worked wonderfully! My hands stayed warm and relatively dry. Very comfortable and I found the BD sizing chart to be true to size.

Amazing light weight glove

By Steve

from Oregon

Comments about Black Diamond Arc Glove:

I noticed some reviewers recommended a size up (advice I followed). Unfortunately this made the glove too large for me. It is designed to be a close fitting, dexterous glove, not a roomy "ski glove". I normally wear a L and ordered XL based on reviews. I should have stayed with my normal "L" size. Otherwise, excellent quality and utility. Highly recommend for its advertised use.
