i bought this down jacket for my wife. She loves it. It's so warm and stylish. Last year I bought another shorter version of this jacket for her. She wore it the whole winter. Compare mountain hardware to north face. Mountain hardware is more warm.

I live in Madison, WI where the winters are wicked cold. This coat is super lightweight, stylish and incredibly warm. Generous hood for those lake wind frigid temps and snow we get. The coat runs a bit on the large size--I exchanged my medium for a small (I'm a size 6). I tried NorthFace and Patagonia---my goal was a stylish, super warm, and lightweight coat---THIS IS IT--Mountain Hardwear beat out the other two leading brands by a mile. BTW--this coat does not make you look like a giant marshmellow!!

This coat is amazing, very light and warm. I had a down north face for years but this coat is much much better. Its warmer, lighter, and better looking.

I love this jacket! My sister-in-law had lent me hers in chilly Kansas City over the Thanksgiving holiday...it was so soft and warm and stylish, I had to buy one for myself!

I bought five 3/4 length down coats from major gear brands. This one was probably the least flattering around the waist and shoulders, but the best for light weight--feather weight really and softness. Like a down blanket! The other great feature was that when the hood is up and the drawstrings pulled, you can still see. I think I will keep two of the coats, even though I was only intending to buy one and this will be one of them. It is just oo comfortable to send back, but does not quite do it in the cute department. If I can find something warm and cute for the other coat, then I will be set.
I am from Los Angeles and now live in rural Massachusetts. I was looking for something that would work to throw on to do errands in OR to stay outside with my toddler in a snow/ice storm. This latter activity usually involves slow walking or standing, so I usually freeze.

Bought this for my daughter and she loves it...she says it feels good, not too bulky, likes the hood option-overall great coat. I am a little concerned that it won't be warm enough for extreme cold weather that she will be in. It's very light. Time will tell.

Purchase this coat ( size large) for my wife, who's around 120 in weight and 5'6 in height. the size seem as though they run smaller than actual, and the length is shorter than what the picture actually shows. But, as far as warmth in the open Kansas air. It seems to do the job well, with high regards coming from her.
