Comments about Outdoor Research Alti Mitts - Men's:

Ive used these mitts at the top of Mt Borah in ID in the dead of winter. Well below 0 degrees, wind blowing like crazy, in the middle of a whiteout; these mitts saved my fingers! I'll be taking them up Rainier in a couple weeks. Wouldn't want any other mitt in freezing cold conditions. Not a glove that is used for technical work; these mitts are for WARMTH and THAT THEY WILL DO!

Comments about Outdoor Research Alti Mitts - Men's:

I bought these for skiing to replace my well worn go to mitts. First off these things are burly. The construction is rugged. I've used them twice now at Stowe. 1st day was 11 deg F and the next day started at -15 F. I didn't have to use the liner the first day and actually sweated in them. The second day I started with the liners and lost a little grip on the ski pole but soon removed the liner and all was right again. The wrist laces are awesome and a must for all my gloves and mitts from now on. The cuffs are huge and cinch down nicely to keep snow out. The only thing I don't understand is that the description says there is a hand warmer pocket on the liner but I can't find it. It doesn't matter anyway because these things are so warm. Maybe if I made regular trips to the acrtic I would need a hand warmer in these. One thing about size, if I was going to use these to do something that requires some dexterity (although how much can you really do in a mitt) I would have gotten the small. I wear mediums for everything and my hands swim a little more in these than other mitts I've had. Other than that they keep the heat in and the cold and snow out.

Comments about Outdoor Research Alti Mitts - Men's:

I used these awesome mitts on Denali a few years back. They are toasty and tough. I wore them in the high country winter of Colorado while training for Denali. I especially love the modular desgin. Sometimes, just the tough shell with a liner glove was enough and sometimes I really needed the extra heat of the Primaloft liner and the shell.

These mitts are so warm that I cannot wear them on a regular winter day however. I only needed them on Denali above 17,000 feet and even then, my hands were super warm--even on summit day in a looming snow storm at 19,000 feet.

This is a great product for extreme conditions of cold and wind.
