    Lightweight and waterproof. I have an older version that is cloth covered, but not waterproof and can be comfortably worn from about 50 degrees down to 20 degrees. While this one also has the same Goretex type insulation, it was chilly at 30 degrees, so I returned it.

      Comments about Outdoor Research Snoqualmie Sombrero:

      If you like Outdoor Research's Sombrero hats, you will like this one as well. Same fit and feel like the Seattle Sombrero, but with a pull down ear flap, and with the Windstopper fabric which makes a bit of difference. The Snoqualmie is not significantly a heavier hat than the Seattle Sombrero, so don't mistake it for a wool knit cap. It is very light and compactable. It's wide brim is great for letting the wet snow and rain fall away from the center point of your body. The cinch cord is a must on extremely windy days otherwise the hat will blow off due to it's wide wrap around brim.
