Zion shorts are expensive but they are the best, most versatile shorts I have seen. Stylish slim fit with subtle cargo pockets but the stretch fabric makes them as comfortable, but much nicer looking, than baggy cargos. They are great for travel due to versatility and they dry fast. The mesh pockets are good for drying fast if you wear them in the water but the velcro on my golf glove sticks to it and sometimes pulls the pocket inside out when I take my glove out of the pocket. The built-in belt is convenient but I can't adjust it with one hand. If you think that these negative points are pretty trivial, then you are right-- I own five pairs of these and love them. Look for off-seaaso sales.

These are standard stretch zion material, nylon with a fair bit of stretch. They allow lots of movement and dry quickly. Zippered pockets are good. Quality shorts, glad to have them, especially on sale. Sizing of Prana continues to baffle me - I have a pair of stretch zion pants from 3-ish years ago, size medium, and they fit perfect. Bought another pair of stretch zion pants a year ago medium and they are HUGE, ridiculously baggy and I can barely cinch them down to fit me. So I order these stretch zion shorts in small, and they are STILL a little too big - Prana stop sizing your stuff for the average overweight American and go back to sizing for climbers, please.

Love the Zion stretch material. I was sad to see they removed the right leg pocket. That's where I kept my head lamp, extra bars, beanie or anything else I needed within reach while climbing. Now there's only one leg pocket on left side with 2 zippers that are almost too small to fit anything. The rear zipper pocket is no longer zippered and they added a rear pocket on the left buttocks. No use for me. Please return to the old design, it was way better. The zippered leg pocket was perfect for traveling as you could secure wallet in a zippered pocket in front of your body. Much better to prevent pick pocket attempts.

I already owned two pairs of these shorts and they are my favorites. When they went on sale, I decided to stock up on some more. I am a fairly lean 6'1", 185 lbs, and the medium had fit me perfectly in the past. The new shorts I ordered though are a lot bigger around the waist. I never tuck in my shirt when I wear these shorts so I went ahead and kept them and just cinch them as tightly as they go, but it's obvious these are no longer made for an athletic fit. Too bad, but I suppose they are reaching for a broader audience.

I don't understand why these manufacturers have to keep reinventing the wheel every season. I have several pairs of stretch zion shorts from like 5 years ago and they have dual cargo pockets--very discreet, perfect material. Why on earth did they think that following the Euro-disco train was better and that they should have one pocket on the side, I cannot say. I have those too, but they feel weird--you've got to stack your cell phone and your wallet all on one side, whereas you could just have one on either side and the shorts wouldn't drag at you. Prana should remember this and ditch the attempt at eurostyling.

Awesome shorts that are super comfortable and lightweigt. The belt adjusts to how ever you like it. A little pricey, but worth it if you can find them for under $40.

Great shorts. Only drawback is that they are cut larger than I expected (6' 1", 175lbs 33-34 waist) and I should have gotten the Med. Oh, and for some reason, prAna seems to have discontinued making them, so no chance on a second pair.

They simply last longer than any other short that I have purchased. They are money well spent. Zippered pockets work better than snaps.
