I couldn't wear these as the toe box is too tight, it might loosen over time but I can't leave the boot on long enough to find out.

Comments about La Sportiva Glacier Mountaineering Boot:

Ive used these fighting wildland fires for over 2years now. What a great boot! My Whites just sit in the closet and gather dust. With both knees and both ankles pretty beat up I needed somthing with more ankle support and stability than I had.I
definitly found it in my Glaciers. Ps abunch of us tried the Glacier Evos first, and they started coming apart in less than a year.

Comments about La Sportiva Glacier Mountaineering Boot:

I've used this boot for about 4 years from Seirra/Nevada to Colorado to Aconcagua and it does it all. This is a stiff boot that you can get pack gear all day long to the climb and then slap on crampons and send up and over ice and rock all day and then back home again with no issues. This boot with 60lbs of gear on up and over shale rock and boulder fields is nothing for this boot. It will keep your ankles safe and your eyes focused on the scenery and not the obstacle in front of you.

Comments about La Sportiva Glacier Mountaineering Boot:

I have had these and Lhotse Mountaineering Boots for the last few years. I left a review of the Lhotse boots as well earlier. These are the boots I usually turn to when the weather gets really hot in the areas I've worked in two countries in SW Asia. I have been in these boots up to 136.2 degrees Fahrenheit and they still were good. Yes, at that temp they were a little hot, but EVERYTHING is hot at that temperature! They have been a very versatile boot and when treated properly and maintained, are very water-resistant/you could say "proof" just as equally. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about these boots at all. I have, just as I did in my Lhotse's, changed out the insoles with Superfeet's but that is all. Another highly recommended product from La Sportiva!

Comments about La Sportiva Glacier Mountaineering Boot:

I cannot believe how comfortable these boots are right out of the box. I've broken in hiking boots and work boots over the years and my Glaciers are the best. I wear them hiking even when a lighter boot would suffice...that's how sweet they are. Had a bush pilot in Alaska comment: "uh, oh...new boots"...told him..."not new...just look that way...and wouldn't matter if they were new!!" taking them to PCT in September for a 100 mile hike...these are my second pair...gave my first pair to a friend who was going alpine climbing, and got another pair...knowing I'd never get them back!!!

Comments about La Sportiva Glacier Mountaineering Boot:

I used these in the Alaskan Talkeetna range sheep hunting with three days of break in prior to hunt. 90 miles of hard mountain hiking over primarily large shale for 8 days with heavy loads and no blisters. The flex at ankle in these boots is low. When tightened they are similar to a hard shell. They're tough boots.

I bought this pair to use for wildland fire/helicopter ops. I have only worn them on some hikes to try them out for the upcoming wildland fire reason, but I am very impressed with the comfort right from the get go!

Comments about La Sportiva Glacier Mountaineering Boot:

Used these boots for 15 months in Afghanistan.
Heavy loads, multi-week operational movement over 'challenging' terrain & conditions and the absolute demand to perform were my basic requirements.
This boot fullfilled all of them - and more!
From waist deep snows at 18,000ft in the Tora-Bora range to 142f temps in Helmond Provice these boots never let me down - and when you trust your life to a pair of boots that means something to me.
Very impressed with the wide range of crampons that this boot accepts. From the latest and greatest available to Special Ops/Mountain Units to simple iron and leather from the Gurkhas this boot takes them all - and well too!
On several occations in bad places on fairly high angle terrain/rock with a heavy ruck these boots saved my life...GREAT boot...you can trust your life to it.
                I did!
