I use these tips on my trekking poles daily as I use them for walking with my external electrodes to keep balance. I only wish they would last longer, as I need to replace them frequently. I guess that is because I am going around a recreation center, the pool area and locker room and all. They are really great because they don't slip even in wet areas, as long as there is enough tread or roughness to the surface.

The surface of the tip is great. It's quiet on the trail and has good grip. Unfortunately, unlike the other two pole tip options, both of which are much worse for general use, this tip does not screw on. You just stick the pole tip into it and hope it stays on. It doesn't. I have so far lost two. This would not be a big deal if I didn't hate polluting. But, I have now left one of these somewhere between rocks in the Himalayas and another in the mud in Costa Rica. I will try Krazy Gluing the tip on this time and hope it sticks. But, please Black Diamond, make a new version of this tip that screws on like the other tips you make do. This is a show-stoppingly bad design for an otherwise near perfect tip.

Rubber Tips

By Robert

from Undisclosed

Comments about Black Diamond Trekking Pole Tip Protectors:

They tend to skid and slip on level unpaved trails. It's probably better to use the poles without them unless the ground is paved. I truly wish Black Diamond would return to making two-section aluminum poles instead of their current offerings.

Nice for steep, rocky terrain

Comments about Black Diamond Trekking Pole Tip Protectors:

I never use these unless I know I'll be carrying a heavy pack in rocky terrain. They are much better at gripping than bare tips. Kind of easy to lose them.

Comments about Black Diamond Trekking Pole Tip Protectors:

The tips are easy to remove and put back on the poles and they last approx. 75 to 100 miles on pavement.

very satisfied with order

By Eunice

Comments about Black Diamond Trekking Pole Tip Protectors:

I ordered trekking pole tip protectors. They were delivered promptly with clear instructions for both putting them on and taking them off. They were very easy to put on, and they stay on. They do a great job not scratching rocks, providing non-slip support, eliminating the annoying clicking of the poles on rocks, and not damaging the soil.

Rubber Tips for My Poles

By Andrew

from Oakland, CA, USA

Comments about Black Diamond Trekking Pole Tip Protectors:

I really need to use my poles to correct for my ataxia. I needed replacement tips because I lost a tip down a drain in Toronto. Needless to say, the poles without tips are dangerous for street and hotel lobby walking. They slide around. I also have Leki poles and the tips are not made of sturdy enough rubber. I think the Black Diamond tips are thicker rubber which doesn't wear through as quickly.

The product fit perfectly and work wonderfully.

By Paul

Comments about Black Diamond Trekking Pole Tip Protectors:

I hike both on trails and through towns on the same hikes/walks. The titanium tips are perfect for trails and provide excellent connection to the earth. When I enter a town, for both connection and noise reasons, I needed rubber tips. These are designed to fit directly over the titanium tips without removal and they are very convenient to quickly and easily install and remove. Very nice work Black Diamond!

No tap tap tap

By Mary

from Colorado

Comments about Black Diamond Trekking Pole Tip Protectors:

I was loving my trekking poles this winter but as the snow melted, the tap, tap, tapping became annoying. The rubber tips solved my problem. Oops! The snow is back so I removed easily removed them and am waiting for the snow to melt again. I have only used them a few times, but at this point I would highly recommend them.
