BD's easy to see orange color fishes easily out of a dark sack & its compact size straps neatly outside a pack. While it's wide enough to mutually accommodate a couple of ice screws, its length isn't adequate for large rigid/semi crampon sizes that can't be well-shortened for portage.

Poor design. I have G-12 w/ New Classic binding. By placing them front to back and disassembling them, I was able to barely get them in the bag. Needs to be 2" longer and at least an inch deeper to just throw them in and go. Before I even hit the trail the points poked through the bottom with the slightest amount of pressure. What's needed is a hard plastic sheet on the bottom to prevent the points from punching through. The concept is good, but very disappointed in the product. I'm sending it back.

Comments about Black Diamond Crampon Bag:

This thing is terrible. Crampons do not fit well in bag. It won't be long before the mesh tears and you have holes in the bag leaving you to wonder: Why the hell did I spend [$] on this? I may as well have put my crampons in a gallon sized zip-lock.

Comments about Black Diamond Crampon Bag:

I like to take a small pack sot this allows me to attach crampons to the outside. Orange is easy to see, fits Grivel and BD crampons (not large enough for fully ridged crampons). Mesh drains and daisy chain on back helps attach it to the outside of your pack. Simple.

        Service and delivery comments:

Mountain gear is my favorite after several years of ordering gear from several companies. Fast, Friendly and Knowledgeable.

Comments about Black Diamond Crampon Bag:

I was looking for something tough that would hold my crampons. Bag does exactly what it supposes to do and has a bright color. It holds my BD Sabretooth Clip Crampons good.

        Poor Design

Comments about Black Diamond Crampon Bag:

The dimensions are too small. The points of the crampons penetrate the vinyl material on the bottom, so other gear is not protected from tears.

Not too small, but may allow puncture

Comments about Black Diamond Crampon Bag:

I read several reviews that listed the bag as too small. I have some Black Diamond Contact Strap with ABS, so not the largest pair, but the bag works just fine. The bottom of the bag has not punctured, but with some compression, I don't think it would take much to get the puncture. Keep the tools on the outside and your other stuff should be fine.
