Great basic harness. This was an upgrade from my BD Alpine Bod, and the fully adjustable leg loops are very nice.

I'm 5'10, 160, purchased a medium and I find the harness comfortable on multi-pitch climbs, it's comfortable while belaying, on a PAS/Sling, and certainly while climbing. The medium works for me, but I'm on the small end for it. I'm a couple inches from being fully cinched in the waist.

The gear loops hold plenty of draws etc.

My one hiccup so far has been its tendency to get turned around and upside-down. Given the hard plastic tie-in point, it takes a couple times of getting it straightened back out before one-really understands where all the pieces go. It's a non-issue now (just had to get to know the harness, it untangles in a snap) but the first couple times it happened it took a couple minutes to get it untangled.

Highly recommended if you're on a budget and want a good, comfortable basic harness!

could not beat the price

It works fine for my needs but leg loops are too large. can't adjust to be narrow enough. The waist is fine can't tell any difference from a $120. harness.

Comments about Mammut Mirage Harness - Closeout:

Not sure why others mentioned "difficult to put on". I found it as easy as any other harness to get into and tighten up. The sizing is pretty true and has good adjustment range. All in all, a great value and a good basic harness.

The harness is a tad difficult to put on at first, but once you get used to it, it's fine. I'm a pretty skinny guy, and I found that the leg loops are a bit large, though the waiste is borderline too small (I went with the size down from optimim on the size chart).

Used this one day and it seems to work well. I have a small waist and big legs so the adjustability was appreciated (I have a 29" waist and the small fits right). I did not find it as hard to put on as others have in their reviews, but it does tangle a bit easier than some of my older Petzl harnesses. It is light and compact and while I haven't taken any falls yet, it was fine on rappel for comfort.

I use this harness in the gym and for canyoneering. So far it has held up quite well and done its job for being quite cheap. It's not quite as comfortable as some other better fitting harnesses, but it's very nice if you need a new harness for cheap!
