I think they are the perfect shoe. Many novices equate a shoe being uncomfortable with being good. The mythos are the standard counter argument. the lacing system and unlined construction mean that they will mold themselves to your feet. The mythos are what climbing would be like if you could dip your feet in rubber. Loosen the laces for messing around on easy stuff then cinch down the toe laces for precision on harder stuff. from 5.5->5.12b I have never felt as though the shoe was limiting my climbing either for being uncomfortable on long trad climbs or limiting my technique on hard bouldering problems.

How many shoes will allow you to climb hard routes all day and yet when you take them off your feet are not in pain?

the one possible con is that they are a very soft shoe (part of why they are so comfortable and sensitive) and as a result they require you to develop strong feet and toes rather than rely on the shoes to squeeze your feet into rigid blocks. This will be a bonus to novices but climbers used to slingshot rands and stiff soles may notice this.

I've had La Sportiva shoes before and thought they were excellent. Out of the box, these shoes felt very comfortable. However, within a couple of months the stitching on the outside upper of the left shoe came apart. The shoe lace holes on the upper left shoe also ripped. Very disappointing.

Comments about La Sportiva Mythos Rock Shoe:

I'm starting in to rock climbing and I was looking for a comfortable pair of shoes to do this, and I totally nail it with these shoes, from all the options in the market these were the most comfortable to climb, I'm really happy to have these pair :)

Comments about La Sportiva Mythos Rock Shoe:

It is what it is, with any climbing shoe it's best to go into a store and try them on. Also stick to the brands that fit you personally the best. It just happens the Mythos are my preferred Multi-pitch climbing shoe.

Great Shoe! The jack of all trades and definitely one of the most comfortable! Doesn't do it all, the edges did "round-off" quickly...but overall comfort says a lot! Will always have a pair of these bad boys!

Comments about La Sportiva Mythos Rock Shoe:

i was looking for some velcro shoes for quick on/off capabilities, but was talked into this shoe instead. what a great idea! there's no reason to pull these shoes on and off as they're very comfortable. i can wear them all the time. they also stick like crazy to the wall. i felt like a new climber putting them on the first time. the only negative is that they wear quickly which is probably due to the fact that i don't take them off as much as i used to!

Comments about La Sportiva Mythos Rock Shoe:

Great all around shoe. I usually boulder a lot and wear painfully small Muira's (which are awesome for edging and overhang) but got sick of having to take the shoe off every 20 minutes, especially when roping up. So I bought a pair of Mythos and ended wearing them so much I don't even climb in my Muira's anymore. I've worn the Mythose on a 8 hour 1000 ft multipitch climb with no issues. I can still climb hard in the 11's and V5 with them as well. Laces are quick to operate...a simple and effective design.

Comments about La Sportiva Mythos Rock Shoe:

These shoes do it all really well. Buy them small and they will stretch to fit your feet perfectly. Don't need super aggressive toe fist style shoes. I climb 5.12 with these comfy slippers no prob. Ridiculously uncomfortable shoes won't make you climb hard. Train hard and save the pain for your muscles-not your feet. These shoes have the stickiest rubber out there. If you're a beginner, they may wear quickly because of the softness of the rubber. If you're footwork is good, buy these.
