Compared to Wedgies, Rocks, or Wallnuts, the Pro Nuts are rather crudely finished and shaped. The transverse taper is straight, not curved, so these are slightly less versatile than other brands. Most nuts are tumbled to remove the sharp edges, but these are not, and the edges tend to catch on rock grains until the edges wear down. Once set on grainy granite, the serrated convex surface does indeed grip the rock securely, so much so that if you weight the small sizes the second will be underwhelmed by the joy of cleaning these things. This probably isn't an issue if you climb on smooth rock, but I don't, so these nuts will not be the first that I reach for.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
