Comments about Grivel Rambo 4 Cramp-O-Matic:

Just spent three solid days at Hyalite with these; great fun. I was apprehensive of them being insecure (they're my first mono crampon) but the small secondary frontpoint off to the side helps a ton with that. The large, aggressive secondary points work well.

Paired with a set of Sportiva Extreme Evo Lights, they climbed mixed scrappy stuff, as well as fat water ice, well.

Comments about Grivel Rambo 4 Cramp-O-Matic:

From the pictures on the web and product decriptions, I made the assumption that the Rambo 4 had a anatomical curve that would conform to the shape of the bottom of my climbing boots. Was I wrong! These things are as 'flat as a board'. What this equates to is a lagre gap between the toe of your boot and the top of the crampon. This condition allows the crampon to flex under foot, not the type of secure performance one would expect from this generation of product. This said, the other design features of the Rambo 4 seem to be on target. As a side, note the boots I paired the Rambo 4 to are La Sportiva's Nepal Evo GTX, nothing radical about them.
