With spider-like traction and a slightly more aggressive fit than the average beginner’s shoe, the Tarantula from La Sportiva is the perfect entry level shoe for gym and crag use.

Sticky FriXion rubber outsoles are equally capable on rock or synthetic holds and the easily adjustable closure and soft leather uppers provide a secure, comfortable fit.

Comments about La Sportiva Tarantula Rock Shoe:

I got these for their thicker sole and low price. I fitted them tight for edging thinking that I wouldn't do much slab climbing. Slabs would be better if I had sized then bigger. I wanted the beefy sole just bc I am cheap and want them to last longer. If I were a better climber I'd want more feel but thick is ok for me. I climb basalt and they edge very well and give good control in cracks and small toe holds.
My only beef is that the velcro straps are a bit short for my thick feet. They work but larger would be nicer.
A nice shoe for cheapskates like me who are only moderate climbers.
