Comments about Scarpa Maestrale AT Boots - Men's:

I was very impressed with the way this boot skied. I knew the boot would do great touring because it has a large range of motion and is very light weight for a four buckle boot. The part that impressed me was the way it skied. All the attributes of this boot are very similar to the Dynafit Zzero boot but I thought that it out preformed the Zzero. I ended up skiing the G3 Infidel with this boot, which is a powerful ski that has a lot of playfulness, and the boot handled the ski well. The boots lateral stiffness allowed me to really drive the ski as hard as I wanted, with a few exceptions where I really cranked on the boots going into a turn and they flexed a little too far to ingage the turn immidately. Overall impressive.

Comments about Scarpa Maestrale AT Boots - Men's:

Ideal user: Intermediate to Advanced skiers in bounds or back country looking for a light powerful boot to drive any ski while being easily light enough to handle a long tour.

This boot drove the BD Warrant 178cm and Amperage (185) skis very well on old, hard snow with a dusting of new on it.

The fit revealed a lower volume in the instep that I had expected, I had to ski it without any footbed in order to avoid pain. The toe box is wide enough for my slightly fat foot and the heel hold was excellent for me.

The Mastrale has firm progressive flex up to a solid stopping point. I felt that all of my energy was being faithfully transmitted to the ski. This boot has very solid lateral stiffness and can be used on any fat skis.

Conclusion: Excellent boot for the right foot shape; light and powerful. If you have alow to meduim instep you should sit down with your boot fitter and try these.

Comments about Scarpa Maestrale AT Boots - Men's:

I switched to AT skiing five years ago after telemarking for 12 years. My skiing is focused on backcountry and my previous boots were the Scarpa Matrix. This is the first four buckle boot I have ever owned. The narrower fit than the Matrix is better for me. I use this boot with K2 Coombacks and Dynafit bindings. The range of motion with this boot in walk mode is amazing and makes touring extremely comfortable and more efficient. This is the first boot I have used where switching modes is worth while. I also weighed this boot and the Matrix before selling them and they are four pounds lighter than the Matrix in my XXL shell size. These boots are also a lot stiffer in downhill mode providing excellent performance and plenty of power to drive the Coombacks in all conditions. I have skied the resort one day with this boot and found it to be adequate but definitely does not have the power to crank turns all day at the resort. I also thought the price of this boot was amazing compared to other touring boots of comparable weight/power.

Comments about Scarpa Maestrale AT Boots - Men's:

I love how easy these boots are to get on and off and how light they are, but I am struggling with my feet falling asleep in areas due to the low volume of the the boot. Which is saying alot because I am a woman wearing a mens boot. I don't even have room for a proper foot bed! Bumbed I am going to have to work with the boot fitter quite a bit to get them right. They also feel like the flex more than other boots

Comments about Scarpa Maestrale AT Boots - Men's:

Just tried these out today for the first time and was very pleased. I used these boots with my new Eagle Bindings, and Rossignol BC 125's. Nice flex while touring, and surprisingly stiff for the trip back down. Fit was very good, no blisters on a 4.5 mile tour, and my feet stayed warm (18 F outside temp). More narrow than the Spirit 4's which is a good thing for me. The guys at Mountain Gear are great! Very helpful and very knowledgeable.

Comments about Scarpa Maestrale AT Boots - Men's:

The maestrale is very light but stiff enough to drive a fat ski in soft snow. The fit is lower volume than the typical scarpa fit. If you have worn garmonts in the past you will like the fit here. The cuff gives a very wide range of movement, allowing you to stand compleatly upright. I am using this boot inbounds as well as in the backcountry, with good results.
