Designed for alpine climbing, the award winning Cassin Blade Runner by Camp represents a new era in technical ice crampons. Innovative features combine to create a crampon that conforms to the ergonomics of modern boots while increasing rigidity along the entire length of the crampon- without decreasing dexterity or compromising fit. The Cassin adapts to conditions with a variety of front points and toe bail configurations and the patented heel slide integrates the linking bar with the heel piece for better torsional rigidity.
These 'pons do it all! Steep ice? Yep. Sport mixed climbing? Check. General mountaineering? Uh huh. Most climbers have a multitude of crampons for all styles of climbing. The Blade Runners can be easily configured to do nearly everything. They fit every pair of boots I own (including my skimo boots) very well thanks to the optional toe basket. The shape and angle of the vertical points penetrate hard ice with ease and the generous secondary points engage well when sitting on your heels. They're much lighter than many of the popular steel crampons. They're expensive, but they replace almost my entire quiver.
